
The City of Sturgeon Bay is located in central Door County, Wisconsin and is the County Seat. The City has a population of about 9,500 residents.
A great place to visit, live, or work, the City of Sturgeon Bay is a community with a small-town atmosphere that offers many amenities for its residents and visitors. The City has eleven parks for recreation, with baseball diamonds, children's play sets, tennis courts, basketball courts, and other sports facilties, as well as swimming beaches. The City also has a large public library that is part of the Door County Library system.
There is a strong business community in Sturgeon Bay, with many hotels, bed and breakfasts, restaurants, grocery stores, gas stations, auto dealerships and service garages, manufacturing businesses, retail stores, and specialty businesses. The Sturgeon Bay Public School District provides public education through operation of two elementary schools, a middle school, and a high school. Several church communities operate parochial schools that provide private elementary and middle-school education in the city. Northeast Wisconsin Technical College also has a campus in the city, which provides higher educational opportunities. Door County Memorial Hospital is located in the city, and provides healthcare services along with several different clinics.
