Opportunities

There are many opportunities available to officers at the Sturgeon Bay Police Department. Officers have the opportunity to work on crime prevention and community policing projects. Promotional opportunities exist, as the department has four Sergeant positions, and a Lieutenant and Captain position. Officers also have the opportunity to work on bike patrol, marine patrol, and other specialized assignments.


Salary & Benefits

· 2008 wages $20.85 to $23.54 per hour.


· 2009 wages $21.53 to $24.31 per hour.
· 2010 (last year of current contract) wages $22.23 to $25.10 per hour.
· Paid Wisconsin retirement.

· Work schedule of 6 days on, 3 days off.
· TraCS system(computerized citation/traffic accident software program) to make paperwork faster and easier for officers.
· Tasers and rifles provided for officers.
· New police station/municipal center (new in August 2006).
